At Katy Birth Network, our mission is to connect expectant families with the resources and support they need to have a positive birth experience and navigate the exciting early days of parenthood.

Our Mission

The Katy Birth Network was created with a clear goal: to provide a comprehensive network of resources, education, and support for families in the Katy area. We believe that every family deserves access to quality care and reliable information, and our network is designed to bridge the gap between families and the resources they need. Whether you’re seeking prenatal education, childbirth classes, lactation support, or postpartum resources, our network is here to connect you with local experts and services that align with your needs and preferences.

Meet the Board Members

Our dedicated board members are the driving force behind the Katy Birth Network. Each member brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to supporting families in our community. Here’s a brief introduction to some of the key figures leading our organization:

• Dr. Alyssa Easley PT, DPT, President: She is a native Texan who grew up outside Austin, TX. She completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, focusing on motor behaviors, at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. In 2015, she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Her passion for pelvic health was ignited with the birth of her first daughter in 2013. Since then, she has completed over 240 hours of continuing education to advance her skills in pelvic health, pre and postnatal physical therapy, chronic pain, and more.

• Kelly Richman, Vice President: After spending 17 years in the corporate world, Kelly made the bold decision to transform a passion for photography from a part-time job into a full-time career. Their journey into birth photography began with their own childbirth experiences, where they witnessed firsthand how quickly life can change, for better or for worse.

  Kelly owns and operates a thriving newborn, family, and headshot portrait studio on Kingsland Blvd in Katy. With the support of an incredible assistant, they offer an exclusive experience that begins with preparing clients for their family sessions so they don’t have to lift a finger, and extends to delivering professional business portraits that help companies stand out from their competition.

  In addition to their photography work, Kelly proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce. They co-chair the Katy Leadership Program and actively participate in the Katy ISD Education Foundation’s Foundation 40 program. Their entire photography experience is centered around enabling moments to become cherished and unforgettable memories, while also giving back to the local Katy community.

• Ashley Lashaway, Secretary, As a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES), NASM Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT), and Girls Gone Strong Certified Women's Health Coach her goal is to help mamas make moves physically to become stronger and more confident in their postpartum journey.

• Dr. Kim Tran, Treasurer: Dr. Kim Tran, DC, was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. After relocating to Houston with her family after Hurricane Katrina she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. While attending Texas Chiropractic College where she met her husband, Dr. Maxwell Tran, she discovered that caring for pregnant women and children is where her passion lies.
